Rising Tide Lifts LGBTQ Issues

March 4, 2014
8:30 AM - 12:00 PM ET

Presented by:

We think a rising tide of philanthropic support and social innovation can solve entrenched problems and address community challenges head on. Change is already underway. We invite you to get involved by attending the second of our Rising Tide series of conversations, which showcase new ways of solving old problems by lifting up social innovators who are changing our region. Come to listen, meet new people, and leave inspired!

The year 2013 saw many notable headlines related to LGBTQ issues: eight states added marriage equality, the U.S. Supreme Court made rulings in two marriage equality cases, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act found support in the U.S. Senate, and a federal judge ordered Ohio authorities to recognize same-sex marriages on death certificates. While these headlines are important to the LGBTQ community, they do not tell the whole story. At Rising Tide, we will explore the people, the stories, the issues, and the programs that comprise the landscape of our local LGBTQ community. Whether you are interested in youth, families, aging, health, employment, or social justice, come learn what’s happening related to LGBTQ programming – and the support of that programming – from a wealth of local experts.
