Organizer(s): Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers
October 29, 2014
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM ET
In 2012, Washington, D.C. received more than $17 million in foundation funding for LGBTQ issues. However, only $500,000 of that targeted the local LGBTQ community. In the same year, New York City received over $10 million for local LGBTQ services and advocacy while San Francisco received $4 million.
Please join us to hear from Ben Francisco Maulbeck, president of Funders for LGBTQ Issues, as he shares an overview and analysis of the landscape of LGBTQ funding nationally and in our region. He will highlight the primary factors driving increased foundation funding for LGBTQ issues, explore the numbers to demonstrate why, despite growing funding, LGBTQ issues continue to be underfunded (especially in our area), and offer up possible interventions to ensure the philanthropic resources available to LGBTQ communities are commensurate with the challenges they face.
To RSVP please email Rebekah Seder or call 202-939-3435. Members of Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers can also register by logging into their website.
